On the edge of Alet Les Bains village enjoy a classic afternoon tea or glass of wine in the garden of a beautifully restored French house (previously featured on the TV show Escape to the Continent).

 

Other eating opportunities in the village are La Buvette (café) and L’Everche (restaurant).

La Cite - Carcassonne

La Cite is a UNESCO world heritage site and a 30 minutes drive away. It is open during the day and night, has market stalls and shopping streets and can be explored via self-guided tours. Entry is free but there is a cost to walking the ramparts.

Alet Les Bains has its own white-water river rafting and canoe/kayaking centre that offers all types of river activities utilising the Gorges of the river Aude and its tributaries.
